The New Haven to Providence Capacity Planning Study is an important opportunity to evaluate alternatives for preserving and improving Northeast Corridor (NEC) rail capacity and performance with careful consideration of potential impacts on natural and human-built environments.

Study Schedule
Following some earlier preparatory work, the Study began in mid-2026 and will include approximately 24 months of engagement, coordination and analysis.
